Prairie Hockey Academy (24-4-0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (23-2-3) U18 Prep

The first place Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB) and eighth place Prairie Hockey Academy (Caronport, SK) have met just once this season, on February 9th. Prairie would take that game on home ice with a 3-2 overtime win, as Hubert Larose scored just seven seconds into the extra frame. Prairie and NAX sit first and second in goals against, and goal differential, and third and second in goals for.

Prairie is led by a goaltending duo that has given up just 56 goals in 28 games this season. Micah Davidson (14-1-0) and Cameron Beisal (16-2-1) ranked first and third with a 1.80 and 2.18 GAA. Davidson leads the CSSHL U18 Prep division with a .938 SV% and 4 shutouts, while his 14 wins place him second. Offensively, Henry Thunderblanket (13-39-52) sits one point off the league lead with 52 points in 28 games. Rylan Emigh (11-34-45) and Larose (20-24-44) find themselves inside the Top 15 and on the plus side of 40. Seven Prairie skaters have at least 20 points while all skaters (minimum 15 games played) find themselves with double digits. Captain Ryland Molde (6-28-34) leads the Prairie defensive core with 6 goals, 28 assists and 34 points.

With 69 goals against in 28 games, Nate Stevens (11-1-1) and Tyler Swanson (12-1-2) find themselves fourth and ninth in goals against average, with Stevens sitting sixth with a .924 SV% and tied for third with Beisal with three shutouts. 2007 born forward Ben Deacon paces the NAX offence with 33 assists and 46 points in 27 games. NAX has relied heavily on their depth this season, with 13 skaters having 20 or more points and all but one player having double digit points. That singular NAX skater is defensive defenseman Reid Soper (1-4-5), who is a 2024 WHL Draft second round pick who has made his WHL debut with the Lethbridge Hurricanes this season. Darius Hordal (7-25-32) leads the NAX defensive core with 32 points, good enough for sixth among all U18 Prep defensemen. With 14 goals, Saskatoon Blades prospect Liam Eisnor (14-11-25) leads all U18 Prep defensemen.
